About this site
Global Waters 2.0 is a comprehensive knowledge repository dedicated to the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector. Our platform emerged in response to the closure of the original USAID Global Waters website in 2025, which resulted in the loss of decades of valuable research, project documentation, and professional insights.
FLUSH spearheaded the development of Global Waters 2.0 through a collaborative effort involving numerous WASH professionals, volunteers, and interns committed to preserving sector knowledge. Following the disbandment of the original USAID platform, FLUSH recognized the critical importance of reclaiming this information and rebuilding a more comprehensive knowledge-sharing ecosystem.
We aim to preserve and expand this critical knowledge base while making it accessible to WASH professionals worldwide. Global Waters 2.0 is an open resource where information can be shared regardless of donor organization or implementing partner. This collaborative rebuilding process reflects our commitment to ensuring that valuable insights and lessons from past WASH projects remain accessible to the global community.
Our Purpose
Knowledge sharing is fundamental to advancing universal sanitation and hygiene. By rebuilding and enhancing this platform, we aim to:
- Preserve decades of WASH sector knowledge that might otherwise be lost
- Provide an accessible resource for professionals in low and middle-income contexts
- Help practitioners learn from previous projects to avoid repeating documented mistakes
- Facilitate knowledge transfer across geographical and organizational boundaries
What We Offer
Our platform features:
- A comprehensive library of WASH documents spanning decades of work
- AI-powered tools to help users efficiently navigate and utilize available information
- Synthesized information through meta-analyses and blogs
- A user-friendly interface designed for easy access and discovery
Global Waters 2.0 is content-agnostic—we welcome all WASH-related documents regardless of author, funder, publication date, or format. Our sole focus is ensuring this valuable knowledge remains available to those who need it to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene conditions worldwide.
